JTA Training Launch 2009

We are delighted to announce the first JTA Training weekend.  All those who have completed the JWAAD Foundation Course or the JWAAD Diploma are invited to come along to update their skills, knowledge and dance technique.

Sessions will take place at the JWAAD Summer School

Saturday 8th August 2009

Sessions are open only to JWAAD Teachers who have completed the JWAAD Teaching Diploma and will include:

Technique Update: Dance Class - American technique drills... a different approach (with Raphaelle Masson).

Teaching Skills Update: Getting students up to Intermediate level - coaching, standard moves and levels, what is defined and clear technique? Terminology (with Kay Taylor and Josephine Wise).

Personal Skills Update: Self-Motivation - discussion and group work (with Yvette Cowles).

PLUS: Saturday evening: Summer School Party Night!

Sunday 9th August 2009

Sessions are open only to those who have successfully completed the JWAAD Foundation Course (with assessment) or the JWAAD Teaching Diploma and will include:

Introduction to the JTA (with Gwen Booth).

Skills Update: Cooldowns and Stretching - the latest thinking (with Beatrice Curtis).

Personal Skills Update: Setting expectations both for students and for teachers: issues around professional and amateur performances (with Gwen Booth).

Safety Issues Update: Issues around pregnancy and teaching children (with Nikki Livermore).

Technique Update: Technique for spins, turns and arabesques (with Claire Novis).
