Teacher Training ClassJWAAD has a longstanding reputation for excellence in the world of bellydance. JWAAD is a national organisation and offers courses for teachers throughout the UK. We aim to train teachers with an open and inclusive approach to bellydance, committed to each student's individual development, and to their own continuous progression as teachers.

The JWAAD Teacher Training Course was established by Josephine Wise and Maggie Caffrey in 1992. It is recognised as a course of depth and excellence, and is the most prestigious and the most detailed course in the UK. JWAAD trained teachers now teach across the UK from Scotland to Cornwall, in France, Spain, Norway, Belgium, Ireland and Australia.

The course is now split into two parts, with the JWAAD Foundation Course covering safety and anatomy. This is a pre-requisite to enrolment onto the main Diploma Course.

Teachers who have completed the Diploma Course may become members of the JWAAD Teachers' Association (JTA). The JTA is committed to promoting excellence in teaching and to the promotion of high standards in bellydance. The JTA emphasises the need to maintain and continuously develop teaching skills, and provides opportunities to further training beyond completion of the JWAAD Diploma.
